If alternating current meets direct current in one of my subconscious parallels – I always choose the most indirect route to get there, sort of like Alice in Wonderland led on by the Cheshire Cat, chasing the white Rabbit of my fascination. This time off to Washington DC for some autumn foliage, national monuments and last rays of the eastern standard time; and then LA/NY layover to St. Barthelemy as in French West Indies for some tanning and white sandy beaches, flying jets and zipping vespas on the coast, tasting first class island cuisine and of course more shopping. And since I didn’t get to spend much time in NY, I came back for more culture the week before Thanksgiving, perusing museums, opera, broadway plays and theatre. So do it like a true rockinrolla and be an original, like AC/DC, baby!
After my recent trips to warmer climates like the Yucatan and Hawaiian tropics, and some local exursions to Napa Valley, New York, and LA summertime fun, I was pointed in the direction of Costa Rica. One way to describe it is “Paradise Lost”– a rugged, rainforested Central American country with coastlines on the Caribbean and Pacific. The luscious jungles and best surf beaches in the world, historic volcanoes, hidden waterfalls and biodiversity that is still untamed. And man, did I “hit the ground running” in my Landrover Defender like Dora the Explorer, driving hundreds of miles and many hours, just to witness the majestic power of nature and beauty of our amazing planet! It’s pure magic I say, miracles abound! Enjoy the journey, wherever it might take you!
That somewhere can be anywhere, but if you really want to see rainbows in the making ? go to Hawaii, our 50th and most recent state in the US. Located in Oceania, being the northernmost island group in Polynesia, the state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian archipelago, with eight main islands I had visited in my teens many moons ago. I was feeling tropical this summer after my Tulum trip and decided to revisit Oahu and the big island Hawaii to perfect my tan! So I hop on the Disney plane with my adventurous friends and off we go to explore those active volcanos, go horseback riding at Jurassic park, and swim in the warm central Pacific ocean at the most beautiful beaches in the world. I feel like a teen again, eating shaved ice and building magic sand castles with the kids like me! Enjoy Hawaii and Aloha! Mahalo:)
As Mel Tormé ‘s California Suite song goes – The West Coast just might be the Best Coast, at least for this one Summer I am away from the East side of the Americas. And guess what? It ain’t so bad – Cali is spectacular, From Palm Springs getaways to San Francisco Bay lights, From Nevada heat in Vegas to our own LA historic Chateau Marmont hideaway. Enjoy some of these moments with me! Here is to endless Summer of Love!
Time to travel to Venice in May and the Biennale Arte 2019,showcasing the best curated collections and artists of the world. This Year, it has been titled “May You Live In Interesting Times,” not a Chinese curse per se, but rather an appropriate summary of our current time paradigm. I believe that it is most probable that we live in some sort of parallel universe multi-verse with so many distinctive styles, references and perspectives; with layers upon layers of interpretive meaning. We are as a species, true channels of these shifts and tonalities, and correspondents of multiple realities and hidden worlds, as we are the real connectors of everything with everything else. Per our usual, me and my bestie Lily Kay, put on our “art critic” hats and attended Art Biennale and Arsenale, not to mention some exciting parties for artists, fashion houses and friends in the city that was once considered the centre of the Art World. Well, it might just become that again, and let us not worry about it going under water yet, although we could not help but cry during Puccini’s opera “Turandot” at the Teatro La Fenice Venezia – it was just too beautiful and lovely! These are truly fascinating times we live in! Let us embrace the future, present and not forget history. And don’t forget to stop over in NYC to catch Bjork, the Russian Ballet and more Fashion along the way. Enjoy!
When it is time to go, it’s time to go! Even if it’s before Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix ( we have covered that already not so long ago). “Girls just wanna have fun” as they say, whoever they are, although I am in complete agreement there. So I grab my bestie Lily Kay, my constant travel companion and undeniable source of creativity and diva of Fun, and we teleport to South of France again, this time for some peace and quiet, and exploration of parts we did not get to before before. Of course, we always do it in style, jumping from one resort to the next, one little city to another little country, from Nice to La Reserve de Beaulieu, to Monaco Monte Carlo crashing at Hotel Hermitage, to Grand – Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, to Villerfranche-Sur-Mer and much much more. And don’t forget the pit stop in the city of all cities, my New York to wander the streets and hang at concerts like the Muse at Madison Square Garden, Charlotte Gainsbourg in Brooklyn, La Traviata opera at the Met and so much more, before Angel City! Enjoy the trip through the visuals! XOXOXO
After taking a well deserved break in my city of Angels which I call “Being in the Dash –,” it is always a good idea to go somewhere. It really does not have to be some exotic far off locale or a grand “tour de force,” but a place that calls for an adventure, that inspires and ignites one’s soul. For me – it has always been the city of Lights – Paris, where I feel instantly at home the moment I step into that fairy majestic town of beauty, refinement, history, excitement, fashion, and incredible desserts! So the trip coincided with Fashion Week AW 2019, as if Paris is not stylish enough. And what could be better than to travel with my great friend Veronica B., exploring the parts and places of the city we love and fall in love all over again. Love is clearly in the air, and we like its entoxicating perfume! Enjoy the scenery! J’adore!
It is almost that time of the year, Ladies and Gents! Holiday season right before us, and If it ain’t Winter Wonderland – it’s Californian Sun in my City of Angels. Well, how appropriate and timely! I sense the magic all around and almost foresee the surprises ahead! All I know is that I am very lucky to be home with my loved ones and have all my family and friends around to celebrate the New Year like it’s 2019! I wish that all your wishes come true and much love to you all now and always! Enjoy and God Bless! Naughty or Nice, here we go!!!
Summer is gone, but the Fall is around the corner! With the Autumn Equinox – the best holidays are right before us. As for my old-time love of themes and costumes – I am seriously musing on my new Halloween ensemble. Do I foresee more travel, travel and travel with Columbus Day in October? But Yes! Of Course! So why wait for Thanksgiving Day to express our gratitude when everyday should be happy, joyous and free? We live in an abundant world full of love, lessons, gifts and magic! Let us not forget Christmas and New Year with all its splendour and magnificence. But I am thinking ahead! Oh… do you want to see my spaceship?!?
